Villain Week Day 3: Doctor Octopus

This week, Jojo draws comic book super villains as best she can remember them. Here’s how today went.

Me: “Jojo, you know Doctor Octopus, right?”

Jojo: “Nope.”

Me: “Jojo, I literally do not believe you. He was in Spider-Man 2, one of the best super hero movies ever made. The movie made almost $800 million worldwide. You must have seen billboards of him everywhere for months. I guarantee that if you draw what comes to your mind, it will be basically right.”

Ladies and gentlemen, I will never doubt Jojo’s non-knowledge ever again. I think it’s pretty clear what she got wrong here so I’ll just point out the single brass knuckle that she drew on one tentacle. That’s a nice touch.

Actually two more things. Jojo told me she was going to just draw an octopus but then she thought, “Well, he must be some sort of guy too. He can’t just be an octopus who said one day, ‘I have to kill Spider-Man’, climbed out of the sea and attacked… New York? I imagine Spider-Man lives in New York.” When I pointed out that giving him human legs means he has ten total limbs, Jojo said, “Maybe he’s part squid?”
